Task

Design 2 sets of badges for 4 Courses. One set must represent the courses as signs and the other set must represent the courses as symbols. Each set must have a common connector.

Set 1: Signs

Connector/Trope

The connecting element across each badge is the yellow light that’s show in various forms The forms include:

  • A magical spell coming from the lamp

  • Fireworks lighting up the sky behind the castle

  • Sparkles coming from the magic wand

  • A halo like light around the tip of the Wizard’s hat

All badges also have the font placement in the same place and a circle encompassing the badge to form the boundary

Course 1

Magic Wand: Magic wands are often associated with transformation and enchantment. The sparkling nature of the wand adds a sense of wonder and magic to the visual element.

Course 2

Castle: Castles are often associated with strength, stability, and community. In the context of "Beauty and the Beast," the castle represents the central setting of the story and the transformation that occurs within its walls.

Course 3

Magic Lamp: It's a recognizable symbol often associated with wishes and magic particularly drawing from the story of Aladdin. The lamp's presence suggests the unlocking of potential or discovery of something transformative.

Course 4

Wizard Hat: Wizard hats are often associated with magical knowledge and mastery. The glowing aspect adds a sense of brilliance and expertise to the visual element.

Set 2 : Symbols

Connector/Trope

The connecting element across each badge are:

  • White strokes to represent each symbol.

  • A white circle on all 4 badges that’s used to represent the place the user is in during the start of each subject.

  • The green box that’s highlighting the name of the Badge.

Course 1

Elegant and Harmonious Flow of Code: The badge visually represents the concept of the elegant and harmonious flow of code. This description serves as a signifier for the badge, indicating that the visual elements will convey the idea of code readability and comprehension.

Course 2

Discomfort within Government Structures: The badge visually represents the discomfort currently existing in government structures. This description serves as a signifier for the badge, indicating that the visual elements will convey the idea of addressing and transforming the existing discomfort.

Course 3

Surface-Level Understanding: The badge visually represents the initial stages of understanding in the field of interaction design. This description serves as a signifier for the badge, indicating that the visual elements will convey the idea of a surface-level comprehension as learners embark on the exploration of interaction design principles.

Course 4

Endless Iterations in Usability Testing: The badge visually represents the concept of continuous iterations and refinements in usability testing. This description serves as a signifier for the badge, indicating that the visual elements will convey the idea of perpetual refinement and iteration in the context of user experience.
